STEPHI LOU PHOTOGRAPHY
Hello and Welcome to my website StephiLouPhotography. Here you will find every single (good) photo I have taken along my photography journey. I also touch on my Radio and Volunteering journeys.
So a little bit about me, I'm Steph Taylor a 26 year old who graduated from the University of Chester in 2020 with a First Class Degree in Media and Arts studying Digital Photography WITH Radio Production. I have over 8 years worth of experience in Radio and 5 years within Photography. However, I've had a camera in my hand since I was a toddler.
Personally, I am a wheelchair user, yet this doesn't stop me but I do need a little extra help. I have a passion for volunteering, at university I was lucky enough to receive a valedictory award for outstanding contribution to community as well as a platinum plus award for 600 hours of volunteering and I also won the first Student of the Year award as I was leaving, awarded by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Eunice Simmons. Alongside this I play national Wheelchair Basketball for Cheshire Phoenix wheelchair basketball club and a performer with Proud Marys LGBTQIA+ Choir Chester.
Radio:
Within Radio I have presented and helped out at local stations RedShift Radio (Now Podcast hub for Crewe and Nantwich) and This is the Cat Radio who runs from Cheshire College South and West in Crewe. I then went to university and spent my time with universities station The Cat Radio where I worked my way up to being a student weekend manager for our final year. During this time I was lucky enough to do some shadowing at Key 103 now called Hits Radio in Manchester on Darryl Morris' Show. I have interviewed both Adam Hills and Jason Manford which won me Best Interview at our awards night for my interview with Jason Manford awarded by John Pickford in my first year. I then won Best Female and Best Podcast in my final year at The Cat Awards awarded by Mike Cass and Kate Cocker.
Photography:
I have had a lot of experience though through being the photographer for charities and events partnered with Cheshire and Warrington Carers trust, Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair basketball club, Maggie's Cancer Charity Clatterbridge, Triple C and The Lowry Theatre. I have had the pleasure of photographing Charity Balls, Weddings, Charity open days, Culture Crawls, Sporting Competitions and much more. I have taught photography voluntary for the past 2 years with much success, photographing Eurovision and also working on a project for photographer Craig Easton. I have also photographed Manchester City centre for the Poet Tony Walsh to accompany his poem 'These Bricks, They Speak' which raised money for 53Two.
